Ukiyo Yuzu Citrus Gin harnesses the richness of juniper, tangerine and spices before infusing yuzu for an aromatic, citrusy gin. Yuzu is tangy and fragrant, resembling lemon and grapefruit.
The yuzu is a citrus fruit cultivated and very appreciated in Japan. Visually similar to lemon, but with a strong fragrance, unique herbal notes, slight bitterness and less acidity.
Born in Kagoshima, Ukiyo Blossom & Yuzu gins are made from a rice crop that will be distilled in a shōchū still. The shōchū is then redistilled with juniper, tangerine and spices. It is in the last step that the delicacy of the sakura flowers and the yuzu lemon infuse. The result is a traditional Japanese gin distilled with a masterful hand in the shadow of the Sakurajima volcano.
