Swell de Spirits x Los Convidados – Mexican Gin

By highlighting the hard work involved, from field to distillation to the final product, the designers emphasize the importance of each stage of the process and the essential contribution of each individual.
The deliberate choice of Jalisco (Guadalajara) as the starting point for the project reinforces authenticity, building on the region’s reputation as the cradle of agave spirits since the 16th century. By also incorporating Gin, the focus is on the diversity of Mexico’s spirits culture, offering a more complete and representative experience.
The commitment to creating special recipes for bottling shows a clear desire to provide a unique experience for consumers, going beyond traditional spirits to offer something truly remarkable.
The emphasis on authentic, local stories helps to establish a deeper connection with the Mexican terroir, adding a narrative dimension to each bottle.

The Satvrnal distillery, 30 minutes from Guadalajara:

Founded over ten years ago, Pedro Andrés and Jorge Nájera run the distillery alone. From the selection of raw materials to the design and application of each label, there’s not a step they don’t take themselves. Gin and rum are their passions. Our first contact with them was about their gin, which is extremely famous in Guadalajara. After four years of development and refinement, the exclusive bottled gin recipe is the masterful work of Satvrnal master distiller Jorge.

Color: Clear
Nose: Crisp juniper and citrus come to the fore, along with angelica, jelly beans, olive, basil, sage, rosemary, grass, moss, brambles and orchards.
Palate: Clean and smooth, with a deliciously oily mouthfeel. Beautiful balance of juniper and citrus, basil, rosemary, bay leaf, olives, capers, celery and butter cookies.
Finish: Capers, cashew nuts and melon, lemon, pink grapefruit.
Conclusion: A dry, crisp gin with Mediterranean notes, perfect with an Indian Tonic water that won’t take over and will instead reveal all its flavors. A Mediterranean tonic is also a good choice, and an excellent base for a Dirty Martini or Negroni.
