Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin draws its inspiration from the rich royal heritage of the state of Rajasthan. This premium gin also embodies the Indian terroir through the local botanicals that make up its recipe. Named after the royal Indian city located at the gateway to the Thar Desert in the state of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer is the benchmark Indian Craft Gin.
It must be said that it is produced in the Rampur distillery, known far beyond the borders of India for its single malts. Located in the northeast of the country, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, not far from the Nepalese border, it is equipped with a small copper still exclusively dedicated to the production of Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin.
Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin is also distinguished by its recipe which includes no less than eleven botanicals, seven of which are native to India. Vetiver, a complex spice with elegant peppery notes, and coriander are grown around Jaisalmer, in the north of the country. The sweet orange peels, which bring delicate citrus and floral notes to the gin, come from central India. Cubeb berries and lemongrass are sourced from the south of the country, green tea leaves from the famous Darjeeling region in the east, and lemon peel from the west. Angelica, licorice and caraway seeds give Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin its spicy flavor, slightly tinged with anise.
If, through its name, Jaisalmer embodies the magic of the history of the Maharajas, its bottle, identifiable by its raised gold touches inspired by traditional Rajasthani decorative motifs, reflects the royal heritage of the region but also the color of the city’s fort. As for the deer, it is the emblem of Jaisalmer.
A true oasis of freshness, Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin is the perfect reflection of its terroir and Indian culture, both in its production and in its bottle.
