Where does Rose Des Vents gin come from?
The latest creation of the Distillery La Grange “Rose des Vents” is a journey between the history of Gin and Saffron.
When the British colonized India in 1750, they obviously took Gin in their trunks.
India being a land of spices, the colonial bourgeoisie had the luxury of flavoring the Gin with saffron, whose pistils with unique medicinal and aromatic virtues give it all its nobility.
The existence of a saffron farm ten minutes away from the distillery sounds like an obvious collaboration.
How is this gin made?
A first distillation composed of Alsatian juniper, coriander, lemon, pepper, cardamom,… will be the basis for an extraction by cold infusion of saffron and will give it this golden color.
That’s why it’s so popular!
The extraction by cold infusion gives it all its particularity and makes it unique.
