Where does Mare Capri Gin come from?
With this Gin Mare Capri edition, Gin Mare has chosen to pay tribute to one of the most emblematic places of our Mediterranean: the island of Capri
How is this gin made?
The lemon of Capri and the Bergamot of Sorrento are added to the original recipe of Gin Mare. Gin Mare also cultivates its difference in terms of elaboration. The plants are indeed put to macerate separately at least 38 hours. As for the citrus fruits, they are given a special treatment: they are zested by hand before being macerated in jars for over a year. And if the plants macerate each one in their corner, they are also distilled separately in a very artisanal way. The Mediterranean gin is produced in small batches in a small Florentine still with a capacity of 180 liters installed in an old 19th century chapel, decorated with beautiful murals by Joaquín Mir (1873-1940). A sumptuous setting, just like this exceptional gin. When you know that to obtain a liter of Arbequina distillate, no less than five kilograms of olives are needed and that for each distillation, only 60% of the distillate is kept, the tasting of Gin Mare takes another dimension. In fact, it would be more accurate to speak of experience.
That’s why it’s so popular!
A totally new recipe. The juniper berry harvested in Spain is of course the star of the show, but the cast also includes Spanish olives from Arbequina, the only ones to have a D.O.C., rosemary from Greece, basil from Italy, bitter oranges from Valencia, sweet oranges from Seville and even thyme from Turkey.
By tasting it you will have :
Citrus fruits, thyme, candied fruits
Bergamot, lemon, orange, thyme, basil, rosemary.
FINISH: Rosemary, thyme, Olive.
Bottle: 70cl
Alcohol: 42.7% Vol.
