Where does Drumshanbo gunpowder gin come from?
How is this gin made?
This gin is made from extracts of 12 botanicals including Gunpowder green tea, citrus fruits (grapefruit, lemon…) and spices and berries and the famous Citrus Mostruosa, a citrus fruit symbol of Sardinia.
That’s why it’s so popular!
Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin is the remarkable fruit of an inquisitive mind’s wanderings – unique and remarkable as the elusive creature PJ has occasionally glimpsed in the fields, the Drumshanbo Jackalope, a legendary animal that is part hare and part antelope. Over the years, PJ Rigney has made many trips, one along the 41st North Parallel, through the azure waters surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. Wandering through groves of oak trees, PJ arrived at the rustic Italian village of Siniscola. The local inhabitants made him discover the Citrus Mostruosa: endemic citrus fruit of Sardinia. PJ Rigney’s inquisitive mind then discovers how the delicious and unusual notes of this unique new ingredient blend perfectly with the exotic oriental flavors of Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin. This is how the recipe for Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin Sardinian Citrus, a new expression of Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, was born.
