If there is one word that is on everyone’s lips right now, it is “inflation”. To fight against the ambient gloom and allow you to enjoy your Gin & Tonic at a lower cost, the French distillery Coqlicorne has imagined a gin accessible and always full of flavors!
An explosion of flavors for less than 30€.
With Coqlicorne London Dry, they realize the audacious bet to oppose the price increases of this beginning of year by proposing a classic bottle of 70cl at less than 30€. No impact on the quality which remains the same for the whole range, but mutualized purchases and a reduced margin to facilitate your daily life. Crafting is now within everyone’s reach!
So how is it produced? It is a beet-based alcohol distilled in a 1,000-liter still with a range of botanicals: juniper berries, of course, but also meadowsweet, coriander seeds, elderflowers, orange peel, or even heather. Intense flavors and a solid body, a subtle balance between spices and sweetness, the meeting between the freshness of flowers and the vivacity of citrus fruits. In short, a London Dry in the purest tradition, which however has the spirit of the forests of the Perche, close to the distillery, thanks to the light bitterness of the meadowsweet. Bottled on site, it follows an artisanal process from start to finish and is ideal for cocktails.
Coqlicorne, a blend of innovation and tradition
And this is not the first time the distillery has done this. Limited edition featuring Gouverneur mango, blue gin turning pink after adding tonic or lemon, dry gin distilled in 24 hours only in honor of the Le Mans race…it multiplies creative concepts while keeping traditional production methods.
Located in an old cider mill, a stone’s throw from the Perche National Park, it combines the French and Scottish cultures of its creators to perfection, as indicated by its name which combines the rooster and the unicorn, symbols of these two countries. Its copper still is home to only hand-picked ingredients designed to craft complex spirits. Here, no automatic system. Everything is done by hand by a team passionate about distillation in the respect of century-old know-how.
