In the south of France, Juniperus oxycedrus is an emblematic tree more commonly called cade. It is the most common juniper. Very aromatic its berries are essential in the elaboration of the gin. Who, as a child, has run in these hills has necessarily kept this olfactory memory of the garrigues of which the juniper is an essential component.
It was tempting for the Cros-Pujol winegrowers who walk these hillsides throughout the year to one day marry their culture to that of the distillers of yesteryear.
This temptation became a reality with the creation of this gin, made from distilled wine and flavored with these juniper berries.
Very aromatic, the Gin Grézan develops a nose of juniper, of course, to which are added delicate notes of lemon pepper, savory, fennel and cardamom.
The Grézan gin will be the delight of mixologists and can be used in the making of many cocktails. You can however appreciate it more simply by diluting it slightly with water, or like James Bond in Martini gin with an olive, or more commonly with a tonic whose bitterness will associate wonderfully with the aromas of juniper.
