Where does The Botanist gin come from?

This gin comes straight out of the Bruichladdich distillery which stands on the wild island of Islay off the coast of Scotland.

How is this gin made?

It is all the multitude of treasures of the island of Islay in Scotland that can be found when tasting the unique The Botanist Islay Dry Gin, produced by the bruichladdich whisky brand. This spirit of extraordinary clarity and a very aromatic taste is the result of a distillation combining spring water with the nine plants traditionally used in the manufacture of gin among which we find juniper berries, coriander seeds, cinnamon sticks and lemon peels.

But what makes The Botanist Islay Dry Gin so unique are the other 22 aromatic plants that are harvested from local land to perfume it, such as chamomile, thyme and red clover flower. In addition, by using the famous “Ugly Betty” for its production, Bruichladdich gives a second life to the latest “Lomond” type still, a device created in 1959 for the distillation of whisky.

That’s why it’s so appreciated!

The Botanist is a unique, complex and sophisticated gin, and a true local product: much of the many roots, plants, and grains used in its production come from the island of Islay.
