Where does Citadelle gin come from?
How is this gin made?
Although Citadelle offers a complete aromatic richness, its three character traits remain: – Juniper, its signature, the key base of Citadelle – Citrus, a complementary citrus note that underlines the juniper – Exoticism, bringing an additional degree of reading with peppery, nutmeg and cinnamon touches Balanced, it is elegant, sweet and long in the mouth, with an alcohol content of 44%. A perfect balance between intensity and finesse.
That’s why it’s so popular!
Citadelle gin has delicate aromas of fresh flowers supported by more pronounced traits of citrus. Once served, it emanates more intense and herbaceous notes of juniper and anise, then, the spicy side of cinnamon comes to soften the nose, bringing a very greedy dimension to the gin. On the palate, the juniper gives way to a voluptuous, long, spicy fragrance. Citadelle has won over 60 Medals including “Spirits of the Year” at the 2017 World Spirits Award as well as “Best Gin in the World” and “Gin Grand Master” in London. Its bottle does not fail to attract attention too, it is awarded a gold medal at Spirits Design Master 2017.
By tasting this gin you will :
Precise and uncompromising, marked by notes of cedar and smoke. A lemony note emerges from the glass quickly followed by lardy and spicy notes. Almond milk.
Just as assertive as the nose. Generous on the flavors of peat which it declines around the aromas of burned wood, ash and fire of chimney. Smoked fish, hint of liquorice.
Finish: persistent on peat, but in a much more medicinal register, cardamom, eucalyptus. Back to tar, tarmac and dried fish.
Bottle: 70cl
Alcohol: 44%.
